Research Assistant Professor

Dhruv Batra

Dhruv Batra received his B.Tech. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, India in 2005. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the ECE department at Carnegie Mellon University in 2007 and 2010 respectively. From 2009-2010, he was a visiting student at Cornell University. In past, he has collaborated with researchers at Intel Research Pittsburgh, Eastman Kodak Co. and Microsoft Research Cambridge.

Dr. Batra's research interests are computer vision and machine learning. More specifically, he is interested in learning and inference algorithms for large-scale graphical models (like Markov Random Fields), and their applications to vision problems like co-segmentation. He is also interested in applications of combinatorial optimization algorithms to learning and vision tasks.

Dr. Batra also has a personally maintained website which can be found at http://www.ttic.edu/batra
