Dr. Kevin Gimpel

Kevin Gimpel received a B.S.E. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and a Ph.D. from the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. He also worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from 2004 to 2006 and interned with the machine translation team at Google in 2009.

His research interests include several areas of computational linguistics, focusing on machine translation, statistical natural language processing, and machine learning for models of language. He is also interested in social media analysis, computational semantics, and forecasting real-world events using text data.
