Li-Yang Tan received his Ph.D. in 2014 from Columbia University, where he was advised by Rocco Servedio. He spent the 2014-2015 academic year as a Microsoft Research fellow at the Simons Institute at UC Berkeley, before joining TTIC in June 2015.
His research interests lie in theoretical computer science, with an emphasis on computational complexity. Specific interests include concrete complexity, the analysis of Boolean functions, property testing, and computational learning theory.
