As leaders of a U.S. academic institution we are deeply troubled by the recent executive orders restricting travel by foreign nationals to the United States. Although the first such executive order was blocked in the courts, on Monday, March 6, a second such order was issued. The provisions of this order are markedly similar to the order from January 27, 2017. Students, staff and faculty of TTI-Chicago continue to be affected by these orders by being limited in their travel to academic institutions, conferences, interviews.

Removing talented people from our institution reduces our ability to serve our mission of education and research. These actions by the US government similarly undermine the entire U.S. academic and technology communities.

Under these difficult circumstances, TTI-Chicago will do whatever is possible to support its affected students, staff and faculty.
