Women in Theory
TTIC's Assistant Professor, Dr. Julia Chuzhoy, attended and was an invited speaker for the Women in Theory 2008 workshop at Princeton University in June of 2008. The workshop is intended for female graduate and undergraduate students in the area of theory of computer science. It featured technical talks and tutorials by senior and junior women in the field, as well as social events and activities.
TTIC made a $2500 donation to this workshop, and Dr. Chuzhoy gave an outstanding review of the workshop upon returning to the Institute. She said that the conference was a success, the atmosphere was inspiring and refreshing, the sessions were of outstanding quality, and she is looking forward to further interaction with the outstanding female academics that were in attendance.
