Overview

The Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC) is hosting an Industry Open House on September 26th to introduce people to the cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) research conducted at TTIC and to foster long-term strategic relationships between potential industry partners and our faculty, postdocs, and students.

The agenda includes:

• Introduction to TTIC as a unique graduate-level CS institute
• Research overview by TTIC's AI-focused faculty
• Detailed faculty- and student-led discussion of specific research projects
• How and why to recruit our talent who have gone on to join leading universities and industries, including major tech companies, top financial firms, and successful startups
• Different ways to engage with our students, faculty, and alumni
• Our Industry Affiliates Program: What can TTIC offer to our industry partners

About TTIC

TTIC is a philanthropically endowed academic computer science institute focused on fundamental research and graduate education. TTIC is distinctive to the American educational scene in its unique combination of graduate education and endowed research. Faculty, postdocs, and students at TTIC carry out groundbreaking research in artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on machine learning, speech and language processing, robotics, computer vision, computational biology, and theoretical computer science.

As a testament to the significance of their research, members of the TTIC community continue to receive numerous awards including the Michael and Sheila Held Prize, Sloan Fellowships, IBM and Google Faculty Awards, NSF CAREER Awards, the Longuet-Higgins Prize, NSF Fellowships, Microsoft PhD Fellowships, Google PhD fellowships, multiple best paper awards in flagship conferences, and many others.

Our student and faculty alumni have gone on to work at some of the top places in academia and industry, ranging from major tech companies and leading financial firms to successful startups.

TTIC was founded with the mission to achieve international impact through world-class research and education in computer science and information technology. Integral to this mission, we regularly engage with organizations from industry, the local community, and government that share our desire for research- and education-driven solutions to emerging problems at the forefront of computer science.
