The Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC) Office of Admissions is committed to safeguarding the privacy of applicants. When you submit your application to us, or otherwise provide us with information or use our websites and other services, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of that information as described in this Privacy Notice.

Student records (for students enrolled in the PhD program) are protected under The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. See TTIC’s FERPA policy.

Institute Use of Information

The Office of Admissions will use information that you provide to us and information we collect about you to administer your application. We may use your information to analyze and improve our admissions process, for outreach efforts, and for other institute processes and functions. We may use your information internally with other institute offices and units. For example, we may share your information with the office of the Registrar, or others for administrative purposes or in order to provide services to you.

Credentials

Retention of credentials: Credentials of non-matriculates and applicants not admitted are retained for one year. If the applicant does not request re-application by the end of that period, all materials are removed from our files, deleted or destroyed.

Cookies

Some TTIC sites use a built-in feature of your browser to set a “cookie.” Your name, and other personal or biographical information, is not shared. Unless you explicitly provide this information, we will not be aware of your identity. The cookies set can be classified as “performance cookies”—used to improve the speed, functionality, and usability for site visitors. Browsers give you the ability to reject specific cookies, or all cookies, if you choose.

Security

We work to implement appropriate security measures to protect your information when you transmit it to us and when we store it. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Any password you create is protected so that only you can access it and view the information that you provide to us through the online application site. We strongly advise you not to share your password with anyone. Populi Privacy Policy
