Kaylene Stocking received her PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley, where she worked with Professor Claire Tomlin and was a Graduate Fellow with the Kavli Center for Ethics, Science, and the Public. She previously received her B.S. in Computer Engineering and Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Stocking’s research interests lie at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and cognitive science. She is especially interested in general principles that make intelligent behavior possible across both machine and biological systems. Beyond her core research areas, she is also passionate about improving the alignment between AI research and what the public understands about and wants from this rapidly developing technology.
